ANACOSTA ARTS CENTER
1231 Good Hope Rd SE
The Arts Center opened in 2013. It is 9,300 square ft, and includes a 1,000 square ft Black Box Theater; Vivid Solutions Gallery. space for five galleries/boutiques; a short term exhibition gallery called Blank Space SE, a café, and an 800 square ft lounge area.


THE HIVE 2.0
1231-B Good Hope Rd SE
The HIVE 2.0 (founded 2012) is the only small business incubator in Ward 8. Located in an Enterprise and HUBZone, The HIVE 2.0 offers affordable private and shared office space, meeting space, and 24/7 access for members.

The HIVE 2.0 is funded by ARCH Development Corporation and supported in part with grants from Capital One Bank and DC Department of Housing and Community Development.


Go AnacostiaGO ANACOSTIA
Launched in the fall of 2016, Go Anacostia is both a site and a marketing campaign. The web portal aims to be the resource portal for playing, eating, shopping, contracting, or staying in Historic Anacostia. It encourages people to support the neighborhood’s small businesses and organizations that make Anacostia a great place to live and visit.


Honfleur GalleryHONFLEUR GALLERY
1241 Good Hope Rd SE
Founded in 2007, Honfleur Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the historic Anacostia. Honfleur maintains a rigorous schedule of exhibitions and programming that focuses on cutting edge contemporary exhibitions by living artists from the USA and abroad. It is also producer of the Annual East of the River exhibition celebrating artists that live, work of have roots in DC’s Wards 7 & 8.

In the last year, Vivid has changed its focus from being primarily a place to show photography to one where experimentation and creativity in approach is foremost. To help capture interest and create more memorable and repeatable experiences for visitors, Vivid programs will focus on presentations that are experimental, environmental, unseen, and unusual.


DC Artists EastDC ARTISTS EAST
DC Artists East is a site for all visual artists who live or have studios east of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC. The East of the River community includes a robust arts community. This site hopes to increase these artists’ visibility and further connect them to each other and the larger arts scene.


East of the River Distinguished Artist AwardEAST OF THE RIVER DISTINGUISHED ARTIST AWARD
Since 2002, Honfleur Gallery, with the support of a private donor, annually recognize a living East of the Anacostia River artist for creative excellence and significant contribution to the cultural landscape of Washington, DC. The award includes a $5,000 honorarium.


Artist HousingARTIST HOUSING
ARCH operates four units of artist housing as permanent artist housing/workspace and seeks to create more space for artists in Historic Anacostia. Inquiries should be made through Anacostia Arts Center.


Storefront Improvement ProgramSTOREFRONT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
The Storefront Improvement Program encourages businesses and property owners within Anacostia neighborhood commercial corridors to improve their storefronts, making these areas more attractive. The program provides up to 80% of the cost for eligible exterior improvements. Improvements must be visible to the public and preserve and enhance the historic and architectural integrity of buildings. Typical projects include masonry/brick pointing, cornices, exterior painting, windows/glazing, exterior doors, exterior façade lighting, and signage and awnings.
